Saturday night and Sunday will deliver more nice weather.
Small chance for a shower or thunderstorm on Sunday evening and again on Monday.
Next week we will warm up. Heat will return. Sunday and Monday will be warmer and a little more humid. The heat returns by Tuesday onward. I consider heat to be 90 degrees and above. Dew points will be on the rise, as well. It will likely feel uncomfortable, again. Summer weather isn’t quite over. Not yet, at least.
A cold front may enter our region next Thursday. Low confidence. We might have to bump up the shower chances as we move towards Wednesday or Thursday of next week. This will depend on the placement of the cold front.
I suppose some heat of the day storms might be possible as early as Tuesday/Wednesday. Isolated.
I am watching a larger rain event around next Saturday or Sunday. Long way off and plenty of time to monitor this part of the forecast.

Wild cards for the next four to six weeks will be the tropics. I say that every year. Tropical remnants can move into our region from the Pacific and/or the Gulf of Mexico. Something to monitor over the coming weeks.
Nice weather will greet those heading out to football games on Friday and Saturday evening.

I am still tracking our tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico. It is moving ashore in the big bend of the Florida Panhandle. It will then move northeast along the southeast and east coast of the United States.

I have studied weather in our region since the late 1970’s. I have 37 years of experience in observing our regions weather patterns. My degree is in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University and an Associate of Science (AS). I am currently working on my Bachelor’s Degree in Geoscience.

My forecast philosophy is simple and straight forward.
- Communicate in simple terms
- To be as accurate as possible within a reasonable time frame before an event
- Interact with you on Twitter, Facebook, and the blog
- Minimize the “hype” that you might see on television or through other weather sources
- Push you towards utilizing wall-to-wall LOCAL TV coverage during severe weather events
